Sorry I have not posted for some time, but we have been very busy with new plans and getting the necessary procedures in order.
Firstly we have a licensed food premise on farm which allows us to expand our sausage production and expand our product range to include some marinated meats, possibly burgers and other products we are currently experimenting with. It is so nice to be able to do all this processing on site, right outside the back door. Our beasts are still killed at Swifts at Quoiba and broken down by Leven Gourmet Meats in Ulverstone, but we can now do so much more with our product range. We are also planning to commence farm gate sales, something we have been considering for quite some time. We had a light bulb moment recenlty when we realised that we have a licensed food van which we can trade out of anywhere in Tasmania, so why not here on the farm. Presently sales are by appointment, but hopefully by November we will be able to have a regular day when you can come out to the farm and pick up your meat. Please let us know what your preferred day for farm gate sales would be so we are best able to accomodate our customers. Recently we have started shipping meat all over the state with the help of SRT Logisitics who can get our boxed product to your door for a very reasonable cost. The minimum charge is $15 but you can have two boxes delivered for around $18, contact us to get a firm price on transport. Our last two markets at Burnie have been our best to date and it is great to get such good feedback from our customers. One year on and we are still going strong, with an expanding client base. The future is looking strong for Preston Gourmet Produce and our range of products. |
